JOHNSON VALLEY SHARED USE AREA TEMPORARILY CLOSED STARING FRIDAY

Thee Johnson Valley Shared Use Area will be temporarily closed to the public beginning this Friday.

(April 29) through Monday May 9, while the Marine Corps conducts critical military training in the area. This is a change from originally scheduled dates of April 26, through May 9. The adjacent Johnson Valley OHV Recreation Area is unaffected by the closures and will remain open to the public for recreation and off-roading. Training is conducted within Combat Center boundaries year-round, including ranges acquired through the land expansion bordering the Shared Use Area. The Marine Corps reminds the public to be safe and respect base boundaries when recreating near the installation. More information is available at links in the story at Z1077fm.com.
