Just a reminder, the U.S. Marine Corps has announced it will not be using the Johnson Valley Shared Use Area in August this year. The shared use area will remain open to the public August 1-30. The closure of the shared use area for military use was determined to be unnecessary after the Marine Corps revised the scope of training to be conducted in August 2018. Training in August will only be conducted within the Exclusive Military Use Area, within the base boundaries. For more information, including a map of the area, see this story at z1077fm.com.
