The Sheriff’s Department said the victim called shortly before 8 a.m. Wednesday to report that he was camping near the First Baptist Church on Golden Ray Road when he encountered Jack Santellanes, 60. The man told deputies that Santellanes shot a .22-caliber rifle into the ground near him, even though Santellanes recognized him, and later shot it again in his direction. The man was not injured.
