A Johnson Valley man was arrested Wednesday, accused of kidnapping and spouse abuse. About 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday, deputies were called to the 55000 block of Valli Hi Road in Landers for a report of a woman screaming for help. The 26-year-old victim told deputies she was held against her will and injured by Khorey Dawson, 25. Dawson had fled prior to the arrival of deputies. Deputies found Dawson about 6:30 p.m. when they were called for a suspicious person near the intersection of Warren Vista and Paxton Road in Yucca Valley. Khorey Dawson was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping, false imprisonment, and spouse abuse, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $250,000.
