A Johnson Valley convicted felon was arrested Thursday after he was found in possession of a loaded rifle. A deputy went to check on Joshua Kaiser, 29, in the 5100 block of Lazy Lane in Johnson Valley about 5:30 p.m. Thursday for a probation compliance check. During the check, a deputy found a loaded .22-caliber rifle, which Kaiser had obtained about a week earlier, hidden under a sofa. Joshua Kaiser was arrested on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm and was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $50,000.
