JEREMY JOHNSON NAMED YUCCA VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL COACH

With the unveiling of a new football playing surface, Yucca Valley High School has a new head football coach. Jeremy Johnson, a resident of Yucca Valley for more than 20 years, was hired by the school board last night as the head football coach for the Trojan gridiron program.

Johnson has been with the Twentynine Palms High School football and athletic program since 1999. In his 16 years of coaching experience, he has been a part of 10 playoff team appearances, five league championships, two semifinals, and four quarter final appearances, with squads that produced more than 30 All-CIF players.

The first order of business for Johnson will be to assemble his staff. He hopes many of the Trojan assistant coaches of the past few years will continue to work with the program, but other interested candidates should reach out to the principal or Athletic Director Adam Wright.
