Herbalist and nutritional coach Charla Shamhart will teach a class on “Iodine: Essential Nutrient for Life,” Saturday, May 26 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Rainbow Stew in Yucca Valley. Children born to mothers lacking in iodine are documented by the World Health Organization to be at higher risk of mental retardation. There is also a higher chance of autism.
