INVESTIGATORS LOOKING FOR HELP AFTER LARGE BRAWL IN TWENTYNINE PALMS

The Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying people involved in a brawl in Twentynine Palms late Monday night. According to Sheriff’s Sergeant Matt Yost, police were called to the 74000 block of Samarkand Drive about 11:30 for a report of about 20 people fighting. Yost said some subjects had started fighting, and then got in their vehicle and took off, while others started walking toward Adobe Road. One victim sustained a bruise to the face. On the east end of Samarkand, a motorcycle was knocked down and run over by a black truck, damaging the motorcycle to the point it was not operational. The driver of the truck then left. Yost said the suspects involved in the fight and in running over the motorcycle left the scene; he added the victims and witnesses were uncooperative with police and did not desire a report or prosecution. Anyone with information about the events Monday night should call the Sheriff’s Department at 760-366-4175.
