Sheriff’s deputies are investigating an assault with a deadly weapon in Yucca Valley early Wednesday morning. About 1 a.m., a neighbor in the 56000 block of 29 Palms Highway called to report hearing four gunshots. When he went to investigate, he saw a man running with a shotgun who got into a vehicle and drove away. There was also a trail of blood. When deputies arrived, they spoke with a male victim who said he was struck in the face with a shotgun and shot at. Deputies said the victim was uncooperative and did not want to provide further information, saying it was “his life.” Anyone with further information should call the Sheriff’s Department 760-365-7051.
