The Hi-Desert Nature Museum is offering community members the opportunity to join us for an introductory block printing workshop that dives into the history of printmaking and its role in promoting tourism and the conservation of wildlands in the West at the turn of the 20th century.
Participants will take a guided tour of the museum’s Wondrous West exhibition and learn how to create their own series of nature-inspired block prints using affordable tools and accessible materials.
Designed for artists and nature-lovers ages 16 and up, this workshop requires no prior printmaking experience. All the tools and materials needed to make a block print will be provided by the museum.
The workshop will be held this Saturday, (January 25) from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., and registration is open now.
Registration can be done online at www.hidesertnaturemuseum.org or in person at the Hi-Desert Nature Museum in Yucca Valley.
