The San Bernardino County Special Districts Department is applying for $200,000 in Proposition 68 funding to make updates to Morongo Basin recreation facilities and community centers. The department has selected two potential projects to pursue and has issued surveys seeking the opinions of Morongo Basin Residents on the projects. Reporter Andrew Dieleman has the details…
The first project proposal is for updates to the Wonder Valley Community Center, including $100,000 for upgrading the community center’s kitchen and restrooms and $100,000 in replacement playground equipment. The second proposal is for funding towards the completion of Phase II of the Desert View Conservation Area (DVCA) Recreational Trails project, which includes installing additional informational kiosks, a viewing platform, and park amenities such as benches and picnic tables along trails.
