Sunday will be the first full moon of 2019, and to honor the dance and music tradition of the legendary classical south Indian Dancer, Bala sara swati, a celebration will be held Sunday, January 20, at Harrison House in Joshua Tree. Dancers and musicians—including Eva Soltes, Rusty Gillette, Doug MacKenzie, and Padma Madaboosi—all who studied under Balasaraswati and her family will perform. The performance will be held at 5 p.m. in the kiva at the Harrison House site; attendees should dress warmly and plan to gather ‘round chimineas.
