IMPROV COMEDY WORKSHOPS CONTINUE AT THEATRE 29

Theatre 29’s resident Improvisational Comedy troupe the “Bakers Dozen” has another workshop planned this weekend. Rebecca Havely has the details…

Improv workshops continue at Theatre 29 as “The Baker’s Dozen” gives potential new members and idea of the qualities sought in prospective troupe members. It’s also a great opportunity for those who just want to improve their on-stage proficiency. Improvisation, or improv, is a form of live theatre in which the plot, characters and dialogue of a game, scene or story are made up in the moment. Often improvisers will take a suggestion from the audience or draw on some other source of inspiration to get started. There was a nice turn out last Saturday and another workshop is scheduled for this Saturday, January 27 from 2 to 4 p.m. it is open to all and its free. Just show up at Theatre 29 at 73637 Sullivan Road in Twentynine Palms.

The next Baker’s Dozen live performance is scheduled at Theatre 29 February 10. Ticket prices are $10 for general admission; military and seniors are $7; and $5 for students with ID. Theatre 29 season ticket holders can attend one Improv show at no charge. For tickets visit theatre29.org or call the Theatre 29 Box Office at 760-361-4151.
