IMPORTANT REGIONAL WATER MEETING THIS WEDNESDAY

An important meeting for residents concerned with water issue will be in Yucca Valley Wednesday. Reporter Mike Lipsitz has the invitation…
Anyone concerned about water issues like quality, availability, rights and flood management here will want to attend a public meeting designed to help plan water projects and programs for the region. The meetings will be held throughout the area with one scheduled locally the evening of Wednesday, June 12, at 6:30 in the Yucca Valley Senior Center. Not just a “sit and listen” presentation, input from these interactive meetings will be used to update the Mojave Integrated Regional Water Management Plan for the next decade. The effort is being driven by an alliance called the Regional Water Management Group. The 2004 plan yielded huge dividends for the region including $170 million in local, state, and federal dollars invested in local water supplies and infrastructure. For more information, to locate another meeting site, or to leave a comment call 760-946-7000 or go to mywaterplan.org.
