Les (Taylor) Heide passed away January 22, 2019 peacefully in his sleep.  He was 70 years old.  Born in Hinsdale, Illinois on July 4, 1948.

Les joined the United States Airforce in 1968, serving 3 years.  He performed in many plays at Saddleback College of Fine Arts & Journalism.  Les Taylor started his radio career at the then KDHI and KQYN radio stations in Twentynine Palms in 1979. In 1989 he went to Z107.7 in Joshua Tree and served two stints there, co-hosting the morning show from 1989 until 2001 before retiring. Les came out of retirement to come back to Z107.7 in 2006 to fill-in for 90 days while the station found a new morning show co-host; that stint lasted another five years until 2011.

Les loved the theatre and his theatre family.  He enjoyed every minute of his acting, directing and behind the scenes work.  He was excited for the last part he was cast in, a role in “Oklahoma”.

Les is survived by his wife Sara Lewis-Heide of Joshua Tree; step-daughter Dawn Romero of Colorado, grandson Eric Turnbaugh of Joshua Tree, granddaughter Natasha (Cedric) Vargas and Great granddaughter Kamille Vargas all of Colorado.  He was also survived by his brother John (Judy) Heide as well as one niece; Julieana (Daniel) Powell and Mother-in-law Garnet Conner. He was preceded in death by Dad, John Heide, step mother Mildred Heide and Mother Jeane (Jeane) Heide.
