The Interstate 10 construction project, called the I-10 TuneUp, will continue this week. The freeway is heavily traveled and the roadway is cracked and in disrepair. Work will be done in phases, and is expected to continue through Winter, 2022. This weeks work will be from Banning to Cabazon. Crews will complete eastbound work, then switch to the westbound side. To complete the project without reducing freeway capacity, crews will build a temporary crossover lane that will shift one lane of traffic to the other side of the freeway using temporary K-rails. The speed limit will be reduced to 60 miles per hour in the construction zone.
