The Hwy 62 Art Tours officially kicked off last weekend, and continues this Saturday (October 14) and Sunday (October 15) as well as the following weekend.
The event sees hi-desert artists open the doors to their studios to the public, and one haven for the deserts most up-and-coming talent is Copper Mountain College in Joshua Tree.
In association with staff and instructors from the school’s art department, 40 student artists will be sharing their work at the campus’ Greenleaf Library as part of the Art Tour from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.. In addition to the gallery show, there will be literary readings, meetings, campus tours, and more.
The Copper Mountain College Art Tours experience ends with a big finale on October 21: an interactive Day of the Dead installation, and an afternoon of presentations connected to Day of the Dead from disciplines across the college.
The Greenleaf Library is located at 300 Quad at Copper Mountain College from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
