Human remains have been found in Joshua Tree National Park. A press release from the national park stated that a visitor found what appeared to be partially buried human remains just off Bighorn Pass Road. The press release did not state what day the remains were found. Park rangers notified the Riverside County Coroner’s Office and the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, who confirmed the remains are human. Bighorn Pass Road has been closed during the investigation; it’s unknown when the road will reopen. A month ago, on May 3, a group of hikers found skeletal remains in the Stubbe Springs Loop area of Joshua Tree National Park. The coroner’s office has not yet released the identity of those remains.
