HUMAN BONES FOUND IN THE DESERT IN TWENTYNINE PALMS

Human bones were found in the desert in Twentynine Palms Monday morning. According to Sheriff officials, the bones were spotted in the desert just east of Kern Boulevard, north of Highway 62, by a resident who was driving to work about 9 a.m. Officials say the bones appear to be human leg bones. Homicide investigators were called in, and a grid search of the area was performed, in which additional bones-which may not be human-were found. Sheriff’s officials said the bones appear to have been in the desert for a number of years, as they were quite bleached from the sun. Anyone with information on missing persons should call the Sheriff’s Department at 760-366-4175.
