With a series of storms and cold weather on the horizon, Reporter Cassie Zimarik has some ides to stay warm while saving money…
Cold weather is here, and with it, skyrocketing energy costs. Here are three of the best ways to save energy. First keep inside air in, outside air out. Start by insulating, weather-stripping and caulking cracks and holes around your home or apartment. Keep your thermostat turned down low in cold weather. Dressing a bit warmer can save you lots, especially when you use portable electric heaters. Turn off the lights when you’re not using them, along with TV sets, appliances and other electricity users when not needed. Remember, with rising prices, saving a little bit now can save much more in the long run.
