HOUSE FIRE IN YUCCA VALLEY MONDAY

Morongo Basin firefighters were called to a house fire in Yucca Valley Wednesday. According to County Fire Battalion Chief Bryant O’Hara, firefighters from Yucca Valley, Yucca Mesa, Joshua Tree and Twentynine Palms were called to the blaze in the 8000 block of Grand Avenue at 4:55 p.m. O’Hara said the flames were confined to the bedroom and firefighters mounted an aggressive interior attack. However, due to extensive smoke damage, the Red Cross was called in to assist the family. The three adults and their two cats and three dogs escaped safely and there were no injuries to firefighters. O’hara said the cause is under investigation.
