Hiking, walking, biking and rock climbing are just a few of the many ways to get outside and enjoy nature, while also increasing your energy and stamina. Joshua Tree National Park has more than 270 miles of trails for hiking and paved roads for biking. In order to help jump-start a healthy lifestyle, the Park is partnering with the Hi-Desert Medical Center for a walk around the Oasis of Mara at the Park’s visitor center in Twentynine Palms. A doctor and a ranger will lead a 45-minute walk on Friday, December 6, at 10 a.m. Participants will learn about the benefits of exercise as well as a little history of the area. Though the short, half-mile trail is paved, walkers should wear comfortable walking shoes and bring along water to stay hydrated.
