At tonight’s 6 p.m. meeting of the Hi-Desert Medical Center Board, directors will consider a plan to establish all District facilities as smoke-free, allowing until next July 1 to make the transition. Also under consideration is a proposal to review all committee charters annually and to require ethics training every other year. The only other item on the action agenda is ratification of a new kitchen exhaust system for the Continuing Care Center at a cost of not more than $180,000. It all happens in the Helen Gray Education Center. Those actions and others are in addition to regular reports and the likely approval of items on the consent agenda.
