The Hi-Desert Memorial Health Care District Board will meet in a special and closed session tonight. The meeting will start at 6:00 p.m. at the Helen Gray Center on the Hi-Desert Medical Center campus in Joshua Tree. Among items of interest, the board continues the steps to lease the hospital to Tenet Health Care. The consent agenda includes hiring a company to develop strategic plans, look at requirements to change the name of the district, conduct property negotiation, and purchase of the $75,000 in supplies to furnish district offices. They will then adjourn to a closed session for further property negotiations.
