HONORS FOR A TWENTYNINE PALMS HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER

A Twentynine Palms English teacher will be honored by the Journalism Education Association in a ceremony Saturday in Washington, D.C. Michael Fontana, an English teacher, yearbook advisor, and baseball coach at Twentynine Palms High School, has achieved national recognition as a Certified Journalism Educator and will be honored at the JEA national convention. The 526 certified journalism educators have college credit in news reporting and writing, communications law, or have passed an exam that demonstrates the teacher’s proficiency in those areas.
