A woman looking for her cat stumbled upon a dead body in the desert in Twentynine Palms Wednesday. The Sheriff’s department says the woman was searching for her cat in the 71600 block of Indian Trail in the Desert Heights area about 6:40 p.m. when she found the body of a man. Homicide detectives from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department have been called in to investigate. The man’s identity has not been released yet pending notification of next of kin. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause and manner of death.
