The Homestead Valley Community Council is sponsoring a poker run fundraiser Saturday, April 29, in which participants travel to five locations and draw a playing card to make a poker hand. The event begins at the Yucca Mesa Community Center at 8:30 a.m. Participants will travel to the Flamingo Heights Community Center, Belfield Hall and the Morongo Basin Historical Society museum in Landers, and finish at the Johnson Valley Community Center. The last card must be drawn by 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 each, or $25 per couple, and includes breakfast, snacks, lunch, and an ice cream social. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three poker hands. For tickets, call 760-364-2646.
