HOMESTEAD VALLEY OUTLINES EFFORT TO NAME HWY 247 A SCENIC HIGHWAY

The Homestead Valley Community Council will discuss the nine-year campaign for designating State Route 247 as a scenic highway at its meeting tomorrow, specifically whether the county supports the scenic highway designation. In addition, representatives from CalFire, as well as the sheriff’s and fire departments have been invited to attend. Residents of Yucca Mesa, Landers, Flamingo Heights, and Johnson Valley are urged to attend. The meeting is set for 3 p.m. tomorrow, June 18, at the Johnson Valley Community Center, off Larrea Road.
