HOMESTEAD VALLEY COMMUNITY COUNCIL MEETS MONDAY

0

The Homestead Valley Community Council will discuss the prospect of more industrial-scale solar fields in Rural Living Zones in the county at its
next regular meeting Monday, April 16. The county’s planning commission will meet April 26 to discuss Policy 4.10, which was removed from the
county’s Renewable Energy and Conservation Element last August. Policy 4.10 proposed to limit adverse impacts on the quality of life and economic
development opportunities in unincorporated communities. While public comments supported a more restrictive policy, renewable energy developers felt the policy was inconsistent and arbitrary. The Homestead Valley Community Council will meet at 3 p.m. Monday at the Yucca Mesa Community Center, 3133 Balsa Avenue, just off Aberdeen Road.
