The Homestead Valley Community Council, which represents Yucca Mesa, Landers, Flamingo Heights, and Johnson Valley, will hold its next meeting Monday, July 18, starting at 3 p.m. New firefighters and the Community Emergency Response Team will be introduced, and residents will learn about starting a CERT program. Next, the council will discuss neighborhood watch programs and illegal dumping, and will receive an update from the fire department. Representatives from CalFire, county fire, and the Sheriff’s Department will be available to answer questions. The meeting will be held in the Flamingo Heights Community Center, 55977 Perris Road, just off Old Woman Springs Road behind La Copine Restaurant.
