The Broadway musical, “Into the Woods,” opened this weekend at Theatre 29. “Into the Woods” intermingles the lives of many of your favorite fairytale characters in unexpected ways. A baker and his wife, cursed by a witch, journey into the woods to reverse the curse. In the woods they meet Cinderella and her family, Little Red Riding hood and the Wolf, the Witch’s daughter Rapunzel, handsome Princes, and Jack and his beloved cow. When Jack’s beanstalk brings them a visit from an angry giant, we see how consequences haunt them all in disastrous ways. Performances are Friday and Saturday evenings at 7 and Sundays at 2:30 through May 21. Tickets are $15, $12 for seniors and military, and $8 for students with ID. “Into the Woods” has a more mature theme, so parental guidance is suggested for children under 12. For tickets visit theatre29.org or call the Theatre 29 Box Office at 760-361-4151.
