The Morongo Basin Historical Society’s 2nd Wednesday Lecture Series on Wednesday, January 8, brings military and aviation history academician Sid Burks to the Hi-Desert Nature Museum for a look at General George Patton and his Desert Training Center. This is the story of Patton’s privileged childhood in the San Gabriel area to his mysterious death after the end of World War II. The Desert Training Center that Patton pioneered will also be discussed.
The lecture takes place at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 8, at the Hi-Desert Nature Museum in Yucca Valley. A $5 donation is requested.
