HISTORICAL SOCIETY PLANS TOUR OF ROUGHLEY MANOR IN TWENTYNINE PALMS

The Morongo Basin Historical Society still has openings available for its field trip to the Roughley Manor in Twentynine Palms. Owners Gary and Jan Peters will give a behind-the-scenes tour of the 1926 ranch and three-story house that was the former home of Bill and Elizabeth Campbell, early homesteaders in Twentynine Palms. Jan Peters will read excerpts from Elizabeth Campbell’s 1908 diary. The tour is 10 a.m. Saturday, June 20. Donations are $10 for members of the historical society; $15 for non-members.
