On Wednesday, October 9, the second Wednesday lecture series offered by the Morongo Basin Historical Society will present “Maps and Legends: Kokopelli Spirit Journey.” Join author AG Vasquez on his quest to establish the California Coast Desert Trail. From the sandy shores of the Pacific Ocean to the dusty banks of the Rio Colorado, learn about the ancient origins of this amazing path and its connection to the Morongo Basin. A Q & A and book signing will follow. Donation is $5 for the lecture that begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Hi-Desert Nature Museum 57116 29 Palms Highway in Yucca Valley.
