HILARY SLOANE PHOTOGRAPHY AT THE GLASS OUTHOUSE GALLERY

A photographic look at American life is featured at the unique Glass Outhouse Gallery east of Twentynine Palms. Reporter Mike Lipsitz has your invitation…
The photography of Hilary Sloane is showing at the Glass Outhouse Art Gallery through January 29. “TAKE HEART: American Life in Photos” is an intensely beautiful and heartfelt depiction of what it means to live and thrive in America. Sloane’s exhibit is part of a photo exploration she began in 2004 while working in Argentina. It was there that Sloane became inspired by shooting everyday scenes in extraordinary ways. Upon returning home, she took a road trip with famed photographer Julia Dean that led her across Mississippi on the Blues Highway, resulting in some of the exhibit’s most daring images—some of which touched Sloane in an incredibly profound way. Many of the images—along with others showcasing New York, Los Angeles and Mississippi—are showing at The Glass Outhouse Art Gallery, a unique, non-profit space on the highway just east of Twentynine Palms.
