Two teens hiking in the hills north of Yucca Valley found a dead body Friday afternoon. According to Sheriff’s Sergeant Rick Millard, about 2:30, the teens were way out in the hills north of Evangelical Free Church, near Mohawk and Sunnyslope, when they found a dead man who had set up a temporary camp site. The Sheriff Department sent up a helicopter to find and confirm the death. As it was late in the evening by then, the recovery of the body was postponed to Saturday morning. Neither the identity of the man nor the cause of death are known at this time; Millard would only say that it was “not a suspicious death.”
