Hikers found a body in the desert in Joshua Tree late Saturday morning. About 9:30, hikers were walking near Rice Road, directly across from the Hi-Desert Medical Center, when they came across a body. Engineer Brooks from the County fire station in Joshua Tree said the body, which had been dead for some time, appeared to be that of a woman. No further information is available at this time.
