HIGHWAY PAVING IN TWENTYNINE PALMS STARTS MONDAY

With preliminary ADA work almost completed, the $48 million project to repave Highway 62 begins in earnest in Twentynine Palms this Monday (April 12). Crews will be working on the westbound number 2 lane going from Bermuda Avenue to Athol Avenue. Traffic will be controlled by flaggers from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. at various locations within the work area. Eventually, Highway 62 will be repaved from Indian Canyon in Desert Hot Springs, to Yucca Mesa Road in Yucca Valley, and from Bermuda to just past Utah Trail in Twentynine Palms. The project is expected to take two years to complete.
