HIGH SCHOOL TENNIS RESULTS

The Yucca Valley High School girls’ varsity tennis team beat Desert Mirage High School, 17-1. Coach Cindy Miller said all the girls played well. Congratulations to Catherine Jones for her win in her first match as a singles player. Miller said the team has been working hard these last two weeks looking forward to next week when they take on Twentynine Palms at home Tuesday and then a rematch against their only lost to Coachella Valley away Thursday. The team is now 5-1 in league.

In singles, Katie Brattain won 6-0, 6-0, 6-0; Elizabeth Anderson went 6-1, 6-0; Eden Ricketts won 6-1, 6-2, 6-3; and Catherine Jones had one win, 6-0. This is called a sweep in singles. Great job girls.

In doubles, Mckenzi Monical and Rylie Rohr won 7-5, 6-0, 6-0; Jade Arnhold and Orion Ricketts won 6-0, 6-0, 6-0; and Alex Costa and Gisele Julian were 6-0, 6-0.

The Twentynine Palms High School varsity girls’ tennis team hosted the Lions of Cathedral City Thursday. The Ladycats came away with the win, 16 to 2. The Ladycats are 5-and-0 in league and 7-and-1 overall.
