MORE HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS, SCORES AND SCHEDULES

Twentynine Palms track and field teams traveled to Yucca Valley to face the Trojans. The girls were defeated by the Trojan squad but Exodus Blauel and Alex Morrissey earned first place victories in the shot put and 100-meter hurdles. Multi event point scorers included Laveena Benavente and Stacy Holmes. The boys squad was defeated 66-61. Top performances were turned in by Noel Figueroa (3200 meters), Alan Vander Maas (discus throw), Diante Aiken (110 meter hurdles, 300 meter hurdles, and high jump), and Marcus Chestnut (triple jump). Yucca Valley High School did
not provide stats for their team.

Twentynine Palms High School Boys Tennis Team hosted Yucca Valley High School and defeated the Trojans 11-7. Coach Larry Battle said team standouts were singles players Jerek Silvas and Jorad Burks, winning all three sets.

Yucca Valley Swim Team traveled to Moreno Valley Tuesday for a tri-meet against Valley View and Moreno Valley High Schools. The Lady Trojans swam to a second place finish at the meet. Scoring points for the Ladies were Faith McAllen, Cerena Foy, Olivia Paul, Dania Felix, Moriah Goddard, Aimee Frank, and Emily Kennedy. The boys’ team finished third at the meet. Scoring for the Trojans were Jake Frank in the 200-meter individual medley and 100-meter breaststroke, and Sage Smith in the 500-meter freestyle.

Coming up in high school sports tomorrow, the Twentynine Palms High School baseball and softball teams will host the Yucca Valley Trojan teams at home. First pitch for both games is at 3:30.

The Joshua Springs Christian School Lightning baseball and softball teams will travel away to Baptist Christian School. Game time for both games is 3:15.
