The Twentynine Palms High School Wildcat boys’ and girls’ swim teams took the bite out of the Rattlers from Rancho Mirage High School last week, winning 109-61 for the girls, and 101-70 for the boys.
The Ladycats took first and third in the 200 medley relay, and first and second in the 200 free relay. They also swept the 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke. Lindsey Scamman and Kyra Minatrea placed first and third in the 200 individual medley, and Scamman and Cortni Rahn placed first and third in the 100 butterfly. In the 500 freestyle, Nicole Elmer and Lea Spear placed first and second.
The boys also placed first and third in the 200 medley relay, and first and second in the 200 free relay. Nick Valenzuela and Tanner Rush placed first and third in the 200 freestyle. Brian Soster won the 50 freestyle and Kevin Johnson won the 100 backstroke. Tyler Ambrams and Kyle Bobadilla took first and second in the 100 butterfly, Brian Soster and Cody Landry were 1 and 2 in the 100 freestyle, and Valenzuela and Johnson were first and second in the 500 freestyle.
