HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS: SCORES AND SCHEDULES

The Twentynine Palms High School volleyball Ladycats beat the Yucca Valley Trojans in four sets at home. Coach Missy Bond said the Ladycats were led by junior Tatiyanna Mackall with 10 kills, six blocks and two ace serves. Sophomore Lindsey Scamman had five kills, five blocks and three assists. Senior Latasia Benevente had six kills and one block. Senior Gabby Salcido had four kills and one ace serve. Junior Mara Mapuatuli had four kills. Seniors Courtney Stanford and Allix Durrum combined for three kills and 15 assists. Sophomore Hope Culver had some fantastic passing in the back court. Ladycats are 3-3 in league play.

The Yucca Valley High School girls tennis team beat Twentynine Palms 12-6. Coach Cindy Miller said in singles, Carrie Scofield won two and Katie Brattain was 3-0. In doubles, Dawn Rich and Moriah Goddard went for 3-2; Aislinn Gueltzow and Miranda Green took three and Nikole Cody and Alli Koedel took one. The team swept Twentynine Palms this year. Yucca Valley tennis is now 7-0 in league and in first place.

In high school sports tonight, the Yucca Valley High School Trojan football team will host Desert Mirage High School at home.

The Twentynine Palms High School Wildcat football team will host the Shadow Hills Knights from Indio at home tonight.

The the Joshua Springs Lightning football team will travel away to Palm Springs to play Desert Chapel School.

All games start at 7 p.m.

Coming up in high school sports tomorrow, the Yucca Valley High School cross country team will participate in the Santa Clarita Invitational meet, starting at 10 a.m.

The Twentynine Palms High School cross-country team will host the Twentynine Palms Invitational meet at home.
