HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS: SCORES AND SCHEDULES

The Yucca Valley High School varsity volleyball team lost in three sets against San Jacinto yesterday. Coaches say standouts were Kyley Beatty with with four kills, several assists from Jade Adair and Becky Messaros, as well as impressive blocks from Emily Vigrass and Kelcie Vigallon.

The Yucca Valley High School junior varsity volleyball team won an exciting match against San Jacinto last night. In the first set, the Trojan girls came back from a 0 – 9 deficit to win 31-29. The second set was close as well with the Trojans winning 25-23 to take the match in two sets.

The Twentynine Palms High School Lady Wildcat tennis team won their second match of the season yesterday against the Banning Broncos by a score of 12-6. Leading the Wildcats was the senior doubles team of Brianna Sears and Marissa Thomas, who swept all three sets of 6-2, 6-0, and 6-2.

In high school sports tomorrow, the Yucca Valley Trojan cross country team will participate in the Goucho Invitational meet, starting at 8 a.m.

Wildcats volleyball travel will play Cathedral City for their third match of the week.
