The Twentynine Palms High School boys’ varsity tennis team traveled to Desert Mirage on Wednesday the 29. The Wildcats defeated the Rams 13 to 5. The Wildcats were led in singles by Jarod Burks, sweeping all three sets. In doubles, the wildcats were led by Marquis Tarver and Frankfort Muniz winning their two sets. The Wildcats are 10-4 overall and 7-2 in conference play. The Wildcats travel to Yucca Valley to face the Trojans on Monday, May 4 for the last conference game of the season.
The Twentynine Palms Wildcat Golf Team traveled to Desert Mirage yesterday for a league match and came away with another big win 237-258. Brandon Steffins lead the way for the ’Cats, shooting 37, followed by Justin Delarosa, 49; Hayden Shupp, 49; Chris Waring, 51; and Anthony Gueterriz 51. The ’Cats are now 9-1 in league and play next Tuesday for the league championship.
In high school sports tomorrow, the Yucca Valley High School track team will travel away to Corona High School to compete in the Corona Showdown. The first event begins at 8 a.m.
