HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS: SCORES AND SCHEDULES

The Twentynine Palms High School Lady Wildcat track and field team completed its De Anza league regular season with a dominating victory against the short-handed Desert Mirage Rams. Their overall record improves to 8 wins and 1 loss. Coach Ronda Morton said Liana Ruiz earned two first places: throwing a finals-qualifying 93 feet 5 inches in the discus in her first attempt in the events; she also won the shot-put with a 32 foot 10 inch throw.

The boys were edged out by the scrappy Rams, 60 to 62. Cyrus Clark in the triple jump, Andrew Wilson in the discus, and Synai Salgado in the 800 meters, all earned personal records in difficult meet conditions.

Coming up in high school sports tomorrow, the Yucca Valley High School baseball and softball teams will host the Big Bear Bears at home. First pitch for both games is at 3:30.

Also tomorrow, the Twentynine Palms High School track team will travel to the Ramona Distance Carnival. The meet starts at 8 a.m.
