The Yucca Valley High School junior varsity and girls’ wrestling teams had strong finishes at tournaments Saturday. Coach Brandon Whitbread said Gary Koger and Wade Ingersoll each placed second at the Palm Springs JV tournament. At the Lady Coyote Classic at Indian Springs High School, Fernanda Macias placed fourth, Julianne Fuentes placed second, and Vanesa Contreras and Kat Kennedy each placed first.
Coming up in high school sports tomorrow, the Yucca Valley High School boys and girls soccer teams will travel away to Desert Hot Springs to play the Golden Eagles. The girls start at 3:15; the boys at 5 p.m.
Also tomorrow, the Twentynine Palms High School boys and girls soccer teams will host Rancho Mirage High School at home. Both games start at 5 p.m.
