The Yucca Valley Lady Trojan volleyball team visited the Rancho Mirage Rattlers in a non-conference match. Coach Darrell Sterling said varsity played well and won in three sets. The junior varsity is getting better every match but lost in three hard-fought sets.
The Yucca Valley High School tennis team played Banning and won 15-3. In singles, winners were Katie Brattain 6-0, 6-0, 6-0; Elizabeth Anderson 6-0, 6-3, 6-1; and Eden Ricketts 6-1, 6-2, 4-6. In doubles, scores were Mckenzi Monical and Riley Rohr 6-0, 6-0, 6-2; Jade Arnhold and Orio Rickett 6-0, 6-1, 6-1; Alex Costa and Skye Hansen 6-2. Coach Cindy Miller said all the girls played very well. In singles, Katie Brattain is undefeated. The team is 1-1 in league.
Coming up in high school sports tomorrow, the Yucca Valley High School cross-country team will compete in the Beaumont Invitational.
Also, tomorrow, the Twentynine Palms High School volleyball team will travel away to Salton City to participate in a varsity tournament.
