HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS: SCORES AND SCHEDULES

The Yucca Valley High School Lady Trojans volleyball team visited the Desert Hot Springs Eagle in their fourth league match yesterday. Coach Darrell Sterling said varsity played well and won in three sets (25-4, 25-12, 25-16). Stand-out player for this match is Loryn Brimhall (#8) due to her outstanding passing, digs, and three kills. 
The junior varsity is getting better every day, but lost in three hard-fought sets (18-25, 25-11,13-15).
Sterling said they look forward to their non-league match tomorrow visiting Rancho Mirage. 

The Twentynine Palms High School Ladycats volleyball team lost in five hard-fought sets to Indio.   
Coach Melissa Bond said  freshman Meleane Taule led the Ladycats with 13 kills and one assist. Senior Lea Speer had 10 kills and one ace. Junior Jhordon Stanley had seven kills, one ace, and one solo block. Junior Riley King had four kills, four ace serves, and one block. Senior Gabby Mackall had four kills, five ace serves, and 28 assists. Junior Amanda Mohn had three kills, one ace serve, and six assists.   
 
In high school sports today, the Yucca Valley High School football team will play a Thursday night game in Palm Desert. Kick-off is at 7 p.m.
 
The Lady Trojans girls’ volleyball team will travel away to Rancho Mirage High School. First serve is at 4:30 p.m.
And the Yucca Valley High School girls’ tennis team will travel away to Banning. First serve is at 3:15.
The Twentynine Palms High School girls’ tennis team will travel away to Coachella Valley. The match starts at 3:15.
