This past Saturday at the Trojan War Wrestling Tournament, Yucca Valley High School wrestler Fernanda Macias placed first and Cheyenne Hallabrin placed third. Coach Larry Giron said 207 wrestlers competed at Yucca Valley High School.
Coming up in high school sports today, the Yucca Valley High School boys’ and girls’ basketball and soccer teams will be playing Rancho Mirage High School. For basketball, the girls will host Rancho Mirage at home, starting at 6 p.m. The boys will travel away to Rancho Mirage, with their game starting at 6:30. For soccer, both games start at 5 p.m.; the boys are away in Rancho Mirage; the girls play at home in Trojan stadium.
The Twentynine Palms High School boys’ and girls’ basketball and soccer teams will play Coachella Valley High School today. Both basketball teams and the girls’ soccer team will play away in Thermal. Girls’ soccer starts at 5; girls’ basketball at 6, and boys’ basketball at 7:30. The Wildcat boys’ soccer team plays at home, with the game starting 5 p.m.
And finally, the Joshua Springs Lightning boys’ and girls’ basketball teams will host Palm Valley School at home in the Thunderdome. The girls start at 5, the boys at 6:30 p.m.
