HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS: SCORES AND SCHEDULES

The Yucca Valley High School Lady Trojan volleyball team lost a heartbreaker last night to the Rancho Mirage Rattlers. Coach Darrell Sterling said it was a tough loss but the girls played hard. 
Ej Day had 11 kills and two blocks. Riley Vallo had eight kills. Senior setter Becky Messaros had 20 assists and junior setter Alessa Luckino had 14 assists. 
 
The Twentynine Palms High School Ladycats tennis team hosted the Rams of Desert Mirage High School on Wednesday. The Ladycats came away with a decisive win over the Rams, 16-2. The Wildcats improve to 11-5 on the year and are currently in third place in the DeAnza League. 
 
In singles action, the Ladycats were led by Lexi Wade and Kaitlynn Black, who swept all three of their sets. Alicia Gilchrest won both of her sets and Jasmine McCook won her set. In doubles action, the teams of Kyla Limon/Shadia Sanchez swept all three of their sets, while Sherolyn Alconaba/Danny Morrissey and Sam Crippen/Sadie Brown won both of their sets. 
 
In high school football, tonight, the Yucca Valley High School Trojans will play Rancho Mirage High School at home for Senior Night.
 
The Twentynine Palms High School Wildcats will host Desert Mirage High School at home.
 
And the Joshua Springs Christian School Lightning will host Bloomington Christian School at home.
 
All games begin at 7 p.m.
 
Also, today, the Yucca Valley Trojan cross-country team will participate in the Mount San Antonio College Invitational meet.
